Cooper's International Journey - Live Animal Transportation

Transporting Your Precious Pets Internationally: How EBISS Ensures a Safe, Stress‑Free Journey

Moving overseas is a major life event for any family – and when that family includes a beloved pet, the emotional stakes are even higher. Entrusting your four‑legged family member to someone else for a long international journey can feel overwhelming. That’s exactly why Cooper’s family turned to EBISS.

Cooper, a high‑energy, certified Good Boy, was preparing to jet off from the UK to Chicago to begin an exciting new chapter with his family. They needed a logistics partner who would treat him with the same care, attention and respect they would. They knew EBISS was the team they could trust.

Pet Transportation: Planning Your Pet’s International Journey Starts Long Before Departure Day

Transporting pets internationally requires meticulous preparation — and that’s where EBISS’s expertise truly shines. Our team guides owners through every step, ensuring all requirements are met well ahead of time.

For Cooper’s journey to the USA, the following documentation and checks were essential:

  • Health Certificate – Issued no more than 10 days before departure, confirming Cooper was fit to fly.
  • Breed Verification Form – Required by American Airlines for all cats and dogs to ensure they are not restricted brachycephalic breeds or mixes*. This form must be completed by a licensed veterinarian. More info
  • Acclimation Letter – Necessary when temperatures at origin or destination may fall between 20°F and 44°F (–7°C to 7°C), confirming the pet is safe to travel in those  conditions.  More info
  • Rabies Vaccination – Up‑to‑date and documented.
  • Air Waybill (AWB) – The essential cargo documentation for his journey.

Our team coordinated all of this with Cooper’s family and their vet, ensuring nothing was missed and that every document was completed correctly and on time.

Departure Day: Comfort, Safety and Care at Every Step

Key Results

When the big day arrived, Cooper was collected from his home in the UK using an American Airlines–approved dog crate, ensuring he travelled in a secure, airline‑compliant environment.

He was then transported to the Heathrow Animal Lounge, a purpose‑built facility designed to minimise the time pets spend in their AirKennels before their flight. This prime location and specialist handling help reduce stress and ensure animals remain as comfortable as possible before boarding.

With all paperwork in place and Cooper settled, he was ready to begin his transatlantic adventure.

Keeping Families Connected Throughout the Journey

We understand how precious your pet is – and how stressful it can be waiting for updates. That’s why EBISS keeps owners informed at every stage.

Cooper’s family received:

  • Real‑time flight details
  • Tracking information
  • Updates from our team as he progressed through each stage of his journey

This meant they could follow his flight across the Atlantic and be ready to greet him with minimal delay at the American Airlines Cargo Depot in Chicago.

The reunion was emotional, joyful, and absolutely worth the wait.
