With all plans finalised and approvals in place, the EBISS team were positioned and ready to go airside to oversee the aircraft loading in Belgium. As always with complex, time-critical logistics, precision planning is essential – but so is the ability to adapt when plans inevitably change.
Our team presented themselves to airport security at 7:00pm, exactly as scheduled, only to be advised that the flight had been subject to a slight delay. The revised instructions were clear: return at 11:00pm, with an updated expected departure time of 3:00am.
In logistics, adaptability is key. Rather than seeing this as a setback, the EBISS team simply adjusted to the new schedule and returned airside at the revised time, ready to proceed. Flexibility is not an add-on to our service – it is embedded in how we operate.
Loading commenced smoothly once airside access was granted. Each netted crate was carefully positioned, and locked into place under the direct supervision of our experienced EBISS team, who remained on site throughout the entire process.
We had specified that our cargo should be first off the aircraft at destination, which meant it needed to be loaded last. As it turned out, the only other cargo onboard consisted of empty airline freight pallets being repositioned between hubs – effectively giving us an almost private charter solution.
Every detail was checked, double-checked, and signed off before our team exited the aircraft and handed over to the flight crew for final departure preparations.
The aircraft ultimately departed at 01:48am (Belgium local time). As soon as the wheels were up, our team confirmed departure to Jason Payne, Head of Operations at EBISS, complete with a well-earned “mission complete” photo from the ground.
From there, the focus remained firmly on communication.
The flight touched down at the Sub-Saharan destination at 08:35am local time, exactly as planned.
Throughout packing, loading, departure, and flight monitoring, the EBISS team on the ground maintained constant contact with Jason, who in turn liaised directly with the client. Every milestone, movement, and update was communicated in real time, ensuring complete visibility and peace of mind.
This level of customer service is intentional. We understand that for our clients, these shipments are business-critical – and silence is never reassuring. High levels of communication, transparency, and accountability were maintained throughout the entire planning and execution process.
To deliver this shipment successfully, we ensured that:
Jason was kept updated throughout the night – and he wasn’t the only one still awake and tracking this important shipment. When it matters, the EBISS team is always on.
Mission Possible.
Mission Completed.
At EBISS, flexibility, service, and dedication are not promises – they are proven, every time we deliver.
